James Bond Night

21/09/22 (Wed) v 19:00

James Bond is quite possibly the most renowned spy in the entire history of cinema. The cult Bond film series featuring the notorious 007 Agent stands out not only in terms of its top-notch treatment, but above all its original soundtracks. The man behind the famous jingle for the first James Bond film Dr No (1962) was Monty Norman, yet it was John Barry who took on the no small feat of writing the scores to the next 20 years of Bond films. David Arnold, Michael Kamen and Thomas Newman then followed, leaving their stamp on the Bond scene.  The most recent film No Time to Die (2021) was composed by Hans Zimmer. The soundtracks for the most acclaimed Bond films have amassed a global following and the 2021 Prague Proms is sure to reflect this. As part of our 17th festival year, at 7pm on 22nd September, you’re invited to the Smetana Hall of Prague’s Municipal House to hear the Czech National Symphony Orchestra perform tracks from Goldfinger (1964), Diamonds Are Forever (1971), Live and Let Die (1973), Goldeneye (1995), Casino Royale (2006) and Skyfall (2012). All conducted by our masterful Music Director Steven Mercurio.
