CHANGE OF THE 2022 CONCERT PROGRAMME

Cecilia Bartoli – mezzo-soprano
Gianluca Capuano – conductor
Les Musiciens du Prince – Monaco

What do Farinelli and Cecilia Bartoli have in common? He was a legendary Italian singer, a rock star of the Baroque era, who sang the most virtuosic music ever written for the human voice. She is an absolute star of the 20th and 21st centuries, having sold more than twelve million audio and video recordings throughout her career, making her the best-selling living classical artist.

One of Cecilia Bartoli's most successful CDs is an album dedicated to Farinelli (Decca label, 2020). Farinelli, real name Carlo Broschi, the most famous castrato of all time, whose art conquered the whole of Europe in the 18th century, was said to be able to sing 250 notes in one breath and had a range of three octaves. Mastering his repertoire is a great challenge. Cecilia Bartoli accepted it, and her CD became a worldwide success!

Cecilia Bartoli, artistic director of the Salzburg Whitsun Festival and director of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo from January 1, 2023, is a tireless and determined artist who is not afraid to constantly push the limits of her possibilities. We, too, will it see for ourselves once again in May 2023. Her Prague concert will feature arias and orchestral compositions by G.F. Handel, Nicola Porpora, Johann Adolph Hasse, Georg Philipp Telemann, and Antonio Vivaldi. Don't miss this magical evening!

The concert will run without an interval.

Under the patronage of the Ambassador of Italy in the Czech Republic H.E. Mauro Marsili.
